Description

Stage 2 Performance Software
Stage 2 Software is designed to utilise hardware additions such as an intercooler, air intake system and downpipe. These upgrades replace the restrictive stock components and allow the engine to make power more efficiently, offering a wider power band and bigger increase in mid-range response.
1.8 Litre TSI
2015 saw the release of the new Volkswagen Polo GTI with an updated 1.8 TSI engine. Putting out an impressive 192 PS and 236 LBFT and available as a manual, it’s a step up from the previous 1.4l DSG-only. We were excited to get behind the wheel as its weight, size and performance figures looked on paper to be a winning recipe.
In standard form we were left a little underwhelmed; it’s not a surprise there haven’t been any rave reviews surrounding this cars performance, and more specifically its power delivery. Yes it’s capable, well built and has a lot of grip on the road but it’s far from exciting. The throttle is very sensitive and emulates a ‘sporty’ feel but is over-responsive and makes driving in traffic a real effort. You barely touch the accelerator and feel a surge of power; put your foot down more it becomes clear there’s nothing left to give and the initial surge was a false promise of performance. It’s all positive though, there’s lots of room for improvement…
Revo Stage 2 Software offers the performance and driveability you expect from a GTI. Thousands of development miles have gone into unlocking the true potential of the Polo, the extra 52 PS and 65 LBFT of torque brings the car to life and offers more urgent and consistent power delivery.
Pedal Response
The standard throttle response is set to give you 100% power when the pedal is 60% or more. We have developed our own throttle response routines, changing the way the car responds in each gear to give you more control over power input and a much more rewarding drive.

Development
All Revo performance Software is designed to safely enhance the driveability of your vehicle, giving access to more power and torque throughout the rev range while maintaining the extensive factory safety mechanisms. Although Revo offers some of the most substantial performance increases on the market, peak figures form part of a much bigger picture and are never the sole focus during development. Revo Software offers a perfect balance of performance, economy, longevity and safety. Development and testing of Revo performance software are done in a number of territories around the world, taking into account variations in atmospheric conditions such as altitude and temperature. The Revo R&D process is the most extensive and in-depth in the industry, giving you a product you can trust and an experience you won’t forget.

SPS Settings
Your Revo software is switchable between Stock, two performance modes and an anti-theft mode using a Revo SPS.
- Setting #1 on your SPS sets your vehicle to stock*
- Setting #2 on your SPS sets your vehicle to Revo Performance mode A (Tuned for lower octane pump fuel/poor operating conditions)
- Setting #3 on your SPS sets your vehicle to Revo Performance mode B (Tuned for higher octane pump fuel/good operating conditions)
- Setting #4 on your SPS sets your vehicle to Revo Anti-Theft Mode
- *NOTE: Stock mode is not completely stock, it will run similar performance levels to a stock vehicle. Your Revo dealer has a complete factory stock file, if any main dealer warranty or servicing work is required, we recommend returning your vehicle to complete stock.
There are options for which performance modes are flashed to your vehicle:
- 95ron, 97ron, and Anti-Theft
- 95ron, 98ron, and Anti-Theft
- 95ron low boost*, 97ron Low Boost* and Anti-Theft
- 95ron low boost*, 98ron Low Boost* and Anti-Theft
- *NOTE: Low Boost mode is designed as an option for manual cars where you have clutch longevity worries
